We are one of just a few producers to work with Aglianico from this 3 acre block at the organic Luna Matta Vineyard, and it’s something we do only in the best vintages. The 2014 is our 3rd vintage of Aglianico following 2008 and 2011. The 2014 has decided to spread it’s wings a little earlier than its predecessors and is ready to go now, though the firm backbone will ensure longevity in your cellar. Aglianico and Italian wines in general really shine when paired with food. And who enjoys food more than the Italians?! This wine is ox blood in color with explosive aromatics of melted cocoa, tar and cranberries. It’s rich and dense conjuring flavors of dried figs, brandy macerated cherries and black tea. Drink 2017-2027.
