Alex Seidel, Fruition, Mercantile, Chook, Denver Colorado.
Alex Seidel, one of Food and Wine Magazine’s Best New Chef’s in in 2010, is changing the way we look at our food, favoring smaller regional organic systems over large scale industrial farming. Alex started working in kitchens at age 14 as a kid in Wisconsin. After finishing top of his class in culinary school, Alex’s career included stints at Hubert Keller’s Club XIX at Pebble Beach Resort, Antoine Michelle at Carmel Valley Ranch, Sweet Basil in Vail, and Mizuno in Denver. Seidel left Mizuno to launch his own Denver restaurant, Fruition, in 2007. Upon opening, gayot.com named Fruition one of the top 10 new restaurants in the U.S.; Zagat soon rated Seidel’s spot the number one restaurant in Colorado. Seidel himself has been the recipient of even more accolades, earning one of the most celebrated nods in the industry when Food & Wine magazine named him a Best New Chef in 2010. Alex has since opened two more restaurants in Denver, Mercantile and Chook. When he is not bouncing between restaurants, We are thrilled to welcome Alex back to the central coast of California.
